Adult Advisors play an important role in our conference on-island and off-island in creating a safe environment for our staff and conferees in a multitude of ways.
Our conference chairs stay in frequent contact with the adult advisors before the conference, and during the conference rely on them for guidance on various matters. Our advisors, including our minister of the week, Rev. Dave, work together to ensure the physical and emotional safety of all of our participants during our conference week and our off-island annual reunion.
Adult advisors are very much part of our staff and therefore take part in our staff meetings, leading and attending workshops, and helping to ensure all conferees are included and enjoying their island experience.
In our many years on Star Island, we have had few predicaments which require urgent attention, but when they do arise, adult advisors and Rev. Dave work with the conference chairs to address any matters according to our bylaws and Star Island's bylaws. Click here to see the bylaws.
